To be the catalyst for the achievement of an African Renaissance.

The mission of the Thabo Mbeki Foundation is to catalyse the achievement of Africa’s Renaissance through the promotion of progressive African solutions to the challenges facing the continent. The vision of the Foundation is to see a peaceful, prosperous and integrated Africa that is respected and valued by the world.

The History of
The Thabo Mbeki Foundation

The Foundation was launched in 2010, following a series of consultations with various stakeholders, including former President Mbeki’s colleagues, friends, supporters, and partners. The Foundation was conceived as a platform to continue the legacy and vision of former President Mbeki, who championed the cause of Africa’s development and integration during his tenure as the leader of South Africa and the African Union. The Foundation also seeks to preserve and promote the history and heritage of the African people, as well as to foster dialogue and cooperation among Africans and other global actors.
