It is with great sadness that former President Thabo Mbeki and Mrs. Zanele Mbeki have written to Mma Barbara Mogae to express their heartfelt sympathies on the passing of her husband, esteemed statesman Rre Festus Gontebanye Mogae.
President Mogae was not only a dedicated leader of the Republic of Botswana, but an “all-weather friend and colleague” to President Mbeki during and after their time in public office. The Mbekis remember with warm hearts the unforgettable opportunity of their State Visit to Botswana, where they experienced the strong cooperation between our peoples.
