The Patron of the Thabo Mbeki Foundation, President Thabo Mbeki, our Board and Staff would like to join South Africans, and many across the continent and the world in paying tribute to the talented jazz artist and cultural worker, Ms Gloria Bosman.
She was a remarkable musician and performer who dazzled many with her powerful voice and charismatic stage presence. Her passion for music and her commitment to preserving and promoting African culture were admirable.
Gloria Bosman was an icon in the South African music industry whose music celebrated her cultural heritage and contributed to the search for our common identity as Africans. Her soulful music inspired many and served as a bridge between different cultures, bringing people together through the power of music.
In honouring her legacy, we must continue to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Africa, which Gloria Bosman so passionately championed through her music. Her presence in the music industry will be deeply missed and her legacy will always be remembered.
We extend our sincere condolences to her family and the millions who loved her music.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
